Ellensburg Bee Company / PNW Bee Co — Brand Extension & Retail Storytelling
Gateways Art partnered with Ellensburg Bee Company to strengthen and extend their identity as a leading producer of authentic Pacific Northwest honey. The goal was to reinforce the brand’s credibility as a regional player — deeply rooted in Cascadian landscapes, community values, and small-batch craftsmanship — while preparing it to scale into higher-traffic retail environments. We began by clarifying the brand’s tone and story, then built out visual assets that celebrated what makes them distinct: local pride, warmth, and the honest, unfiltered character of the region’s honey.
To expand the customer journey beyond the jar, we designed a retail-ready sticker and product line that captures the Ellensburg Bee Company experience in small, collectible pieces of art. These items were created to live alongside the honey — driving impulse purchases, reinforcing brand recall, and giving customers new, shareable ways to engage with the story. Each SKU was strategically aligned to strengthen the company’s reputation as a trusted regional brand while adding incremental revenue through point-of-sale products. The line’s themes—regional pride, humor, community, and environmental stewardship—mirror the emotional DNA of the company’s core buyers.
In addition to the product work, Gateways Art also helped reimagine the brand’s in-store storytelling by developing informational cards and collateral that accompany each honey and product display. These pieces extend the narrative that began on the label, giving customers context, provenance, and a reason to connect with the mission behind the product. Together, the new materials, product line, and visual framework help Ellensburg Bee Company continue telling its story well past the point of purchase—transforming every interaction with the brand into a moment of regional pride, authenticity, and meaning.
