The Summit Success series is one of Gateways’ signature product lines — a collection born from the mountains and the sense of community they inspire. At its core, Summit Success celebrates achievement: the triumph of reaching a summit, completing a trail, or simply spending time in the wilderness. But beyond accomplishment, it embodies something deeper — the shared spirit of connection, humility, and kindness found among those who venture into wild places.
The idea began with one of our founders, an avid mountaineer and long-distance hiker who spent years climbing across the Cascades and trekking the Pacific Crest Trail. Out there, he noticed something remarkable — that in the wilderness, people treated one another differently. Strangers offered help, shared food, lent ropes, and exchanged stories not out of obligation but out of genuine care. It was as though the challenges of the mountains brought out the best in everyone. That realization — that adventure builds not just endurance but community — became the inspiration behind Summit Success.
Each sticker in the series honors a place, a climb, or a journey, but also the invisible network of people who share those experiences. Designed to help individuals celebrate their achievements and connect with others, the stickers have become tokens of identity for hikers, climbers, and outdoor lovers alike. When someone spots a Summit Success sticker on a car, water bottle, or laptop, they instantly recognize a kindred spirit — someone who has chased horizons, endured storms, and felt the same sense of awe standing on a mountaintop. Through these shared symbols, we hope to bring the outdoor community — and the world — a little closer together.
Every Summit Success design begins as a hand-drawn pencil sketch of a real mountain, crafted with the same care and respect as a climber’s route to the summit. The artwork is inspired by the look of vintage topographic maps and classic mountaineering badges, evoking both nostalgia and authenticity. Over time, the line has expanded to include major summits, state high points, and iconic peaks across national and local parks. As one of Gateways’ oldest and most beloved collections, Summit Success not only helped us enter the sticker space but also solidified our belief that art can connect people, build community, and keep the spirit of adventure alive.
