Acadia National Park — Place-Based Storytelling & Collectible Retail Design

This collection was designed as a place-based retail concept inspired by Acadia National Park—translating the park’s distinct landscapes, activities, and cultural identity into a cohesive line of collectible products. The goal was to capture what makes Acadia uniquely memorable: coastal mountains meeting the Atlantic, early morning hikes up Cadillac Mountain, rugged shorelines, carriage roads, and the quiet rhythm of time spent outdoors. The work began with identifying the park’s most defining experiences, then distilling them into visual themes that feel both authentic and emotionally resonant.

The resulting product line focuses on small, highly collectible items that reflect the breadth of the Acadia experience. Each piece highlights a specific activity or moment—sunrise summits, biking the carriage roads, tidepool exploration, or watching waves crash along the rocky coast—allowing visitors to connect with the parts of the park that mattered most to them. Designed to live within a retail environment, the collection emphasizes approachability, strong visual identity, and the ability to function as both a personal keepsake and a meaningful gift.

In addition to the product design, the concept incorporates a broader storytelling framework that could extend into in-store displays and supporting materials. This layer provides context and continuity, helping visitors understand not just what they are purchasing, but the experience it represents. Together, the system creates a retail experience that mirrors the park itself—diverse, grounded in place, and rich with moments worth remembering—while encouraging deeper engagement and connection long after the visit ends.
